ID on this fish?
I just got this fish from my importer in Miami and they come from South America and are considered Brackish water fish. They are named as the Colomesus Asellus but the pictures I see of the name are different. Can anyone give me a better name?

Looks to me a Sphoeroides annulatus, bullseye puffer.
Gets around 45cm, needs a brackish tank.

Welcome to the forum Loren
That is a very special pufferfish you've got there! I think Frieda is right. Some more info: http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Species ... hp?id=4293

Re: ID on this fish?
My importer just says they are Fresh water/ Brackish water puffers from Columbia. He says we would have to call the supplier in Columbia to see exactly where they came from.

In "aqualog the puffers of fresh and brackish waters"
They say it's from the eastern pacific: California to Peru and galapagos-islands.

Re: ID on this fish?
What does the Aqualog call it. They are about 2 inches and love the salt. I think the males are longer. I have about 12 of them and they are eating blood worms. They like to pick around on supermarket shrimp. Colombia is located with a long coast line so it could be any river leading to the ocean.
